The Colts meet the Bears today for the fifth time since the NFL’s Divisional realignment in 2002. The two teams have met every four years on Presidential election years (2004, 2008, 2012, 2016, today) and the winner has determined which party ended up gaining entry into the Oval Office:

Obviously, this is one of those random/ridiculous stats, but still! Will note one exception: the 2004 game cameĀ after George W. Bush was re-elected for a second term, so we’re really only talking about three games being predictive of the result.
